Just a quick note of appreciation for your attendance at our first Harbour
Festival.
We had a brilliant day and you played a huge part in creating the wonderful
atmosphere, that continued way into the early hours.
It was such a pleasure to meet such a genuinely nice bunch people and
we cannot even think of planning next years event until we know you
can attend in full force.
Hopefully we will see you before then, but I didnt want to let the event
pass by without thanking you properly.
Until the next time
Steve & Allie

Cold
and wet on Poole Quay with our little helper, who collected lots of
money for charity.

For our second session we moved into the Kings Head, where we had a
great time.

FALMOUTH
SHANTY FESTIVAL ... THE AFTERMATH
|
First
of all, many thanks to Falmouth Shout for a fantastic festival.

Friday June 13th
Chris loses his Bank Card.
Chris loses his new smock.
Jacquie finds Chris' smock on a French person.
Cherbourg Shanties join us in John Kanakanaka.
Chris & Jacquie win a bright red Coca-Cola pushbike in the Five
Degrees West raffle.
Saturday June 14th
Chris cancels his Bank Card.
Three-quarters through "Old Fid", Geoff drops his plectrum
into the belly of his guitar.
I find Gills drink, from the night before, in the Whaler Trailer.
Also in the Whaler Trailer, a library card and Driving Licence belonging
to a Truro man.
We see the kilt wearing Two Anchors blasting it out:

We see Fisherman's Friend who were, as ever, brilliant.
Nobody can do "South Australia" like them:
Peter leaves his bumbag at The Moor and rushes back to retrieve it,
arrives at the Cutty Sark just in time for his song.
Ray sings his new version of "Hog-eye Man" - "Oxfam
Man" (even less PC).
Hanging Johnny seem to be everywhere, and after a long day of singing
and drinking, bedlam reigns in the Waterfront:

Sunday June 15th
Chris finds his Bank Card!
We move out of our B&B's, pack up the minibus and move down the
hill. After about half an hour we realise that we have forgotten Gill,
we've left her behind in her room. After a fruitless chase back, she
turns-up in Phil's (B&B owner) car.
We hoist Dave (with hair) up the mast of his boat The Wizard so he
can repair the masthead light.
We get to see Cherbourg Shanties:
Before our last gig at The Moor, I sneak into the notorious Ladies
Toilet of The Seven Stars to take a photo:
